Our Work
AGRICULTURE IMPROVEMENT
RADCI believes in agriculture’s ability to assist communities and impact the future, so we direct our efforts precisely where smallholder farmers need them to thrive.
The work we conduct with farmers does not end with the first growing season. Our pieces of training are largely focused on the behavioral adjustments required to improve soil health over time and promote climate resilience, such as climate-smart land management, compost generation and application, agricultural lime use, and intercropping.
Key Activities:
1. Farm Equipment
We provide farmers with suitable seed varieties based on local climates across our operations. We develop and market novel cultivars to maximize yields and resistance to adverse weather, pests, and diseases. We supply farmers with an increasingly broad variety of seeds, including maize, beans, sesame, and different local vegetable species, since we understand the benefits of crop diversity. We also offer high-quality tree seedlings, which are a high-impact asset to farmers’ yields when properly planted and collected.
2. Farm fertilizers
RADCI offers quality fertilizer and advocates micro-dosing using small amounts of fertilizer near the seed or plant for the most efficient use. Then we provide farmers with everything they need during the planting cycle, including farming gear and harvest techniques.
3. Farmer Education
Throughout the year, RADCI’s field officers give specialized, tailored instruction directly to farmers in the following interventions:
- Land preparation.
- Planting techniques, for example, seed spacing and fertilizer micro-dosing.
- Top-dress fertilizer application and weeding.
- Improving soil, pests, and disease management.
- Harvesting and drying.
- Crop storage and processing.
- Composting and tree planting are all covered.
- Farmer irrigation techniques.
4. Irrigation
Based on the Cash for Work scheme, communal assets such as water catchments, irrigation canals, and agricultural areas need to be restored.
5. Food Loss Reduction
Food loss reduction provides a clear potential for boosting the world’s food supply while putting less strain on the environment.
Methods of delivery
We supply and provide seeds in collaboration with local administration and farmers’ union committee to needy farmers at just the right time so that they can get their crops in the ground at the proper time.
